Tears of the Wolf (PAPERBACK)

I really enjoyed this story. It had fun characters and solid development of both characters and plot. I look forward to reading more.

I absolutely loved this book! I devoured it in one sitting and already can't wait for the next one. I liked how Cenric and Brynn weren't absolutely in love at first sight and their relationship got to grow more naturally. I can't wait to see how the relationship develops more and how the couple handle the trouble headed their way. Absolutely fantastic story!!

Viking inspired high fantasy romance. Slow burn. Arranged marriage.

There’s telepathic dogs. That should be all the review needed. If that doesn’t make you want to read this book I don’t know what will.

But seriously, I really loved this book. The best thing about it is its originality. It really feels like a breath of fresh air amid the same old romantasy story with different names. Characters are slightly older (Lady Brynn is 23 and Cenric’s age isn’t confirmed but said to be about the same age), and they definitely have a lot more experience. “Lady Brynn is a grieving woman”. This isn’t quite a spoiler as it’s said in the first page of the book but Brynn not only has been married before she has lost her child. That got me hooked from page one.

The development of their relationship is slow and so sweet. The development of the characters is truly satisfying, Cenric is a properly built rough-and-vicious-but-soft-and-caring type of character. He grows in the book with the help of Brynn and is definitely the “will burn the world for you” man we love. Brynn is also so well crafted, she’s always been the perfect dutiful daughter, but unlike most recently published books the author doesn’t forget this aspect 50 pages into the story. Even when being dutiful has brought her only misery, she still does what is right, what she’s supposed to do. Her rage and pain simmers long until she finally cracks and rebels. And what a beautiful explosion it is.

All in all, I’m really excited to read more of this story and will definitely be checking out Elizabeth Wheatley’s other work.

The book was an absolute joy to read! A beautiful setting with characters who feel real. It was definitely worth paying extra shipping to get it directly from the author, the book was packed extremely well and I could see the care they put into making sure it arrived undamaged! Thank you for this amazing adventure! I am eagerly awaiting the next book!
